It asked how you could find the volume of a rock using a graduate, some water, and a rock.  The author of each is not identified--if its you, don't worry, it dosen't make you a bad person.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Answer 1:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A student could find the volume of a rock by weighing the rock, then weighing enough water plus the graduate weight to equal the weight of the rock.  Which will tell you how much space the rock takes up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Answer 2: &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Putting the rock in the cylinder and adding the water will give a measurement on the cylinder.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Answer 3:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You put a certain amount of water into a graduated cylinder and measure the volume (meniscus).  Get a second graduated cylinder and pour same amount of water as first one, then add the rock from volume of water with rock.  That will give you the volume with rock.
